python-extras software package provides extensions to the Python standard library (Python 2.x), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-extras
python-extras is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-extras package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-extras *
You will get with python-extras package name, version, architecture and description in a table
